Comme prévu, Anne-Marie et Khady, la mère et la sœur de Tamsir, ont emménagé dans la maison qu'elles ont achetée grâce à l'indemnisation obtenue par l'avocat (revoir ICI). 

As planned, Anne-Marie and Khady, Tamsir's mother and sister, moved into the house they bought with the compensation obtained by the lawyer (see HERE).

Anne-Marie a fait installer une rampe d'accès pour fauteuil roulant à l'avant de la maison et un spa de nage à l'arrière (voir ICI ce dont il s'agit) à l'arrière pour qu'elle puisse faire de la rééducation (voir ICI) sans avoir à se déplacer jusqu'à Sherbrooke pour ses rendez-vous hebdomadaires, comme elle devait le faire auparavant.

Anne-Marie had a wheelchair ramp installed at the front of the house, and a swim spa installed at the back (see HERE for details) so that Khady can have her rehabilitation sessions (see HERE)  without having to travel to Sherbrooke for her weekly appointments, as she had to do previously.

Cet après-midi, Tamsir était en congé. Salma et lui sont passés voir Anne-Marie et Khady avant de rejoindre le groupe des baroudeurs au chalet pour leur dîner commun prévu au restaurant. Michel Fontaine, désormais proche voisin d'Anne-Marie, était également présent.

This afternoon, Tamsir wasn't working. He and Salma stopped by to see Anne-Marie and Khady before joining the group of adventurers at the cabin for their planned dinner together. Michel Fontaine, now a close neighbor of Anne-Marie, was also present.

Anne-Marie a été enchantée d'apprendre que Salma allait officiellement emménager chez Tamsir. Bien qu'elle trouvât la jeune femme un peu coincée et qu'elle lui reprochât subtilement son manque de piété, elle était heureuse que son fils ait enfin une amie sérieuse.

Le problème est que cela ravive encore plus son rêve d'avoir des petits-enfants !

Anne-Marie was delighted to learn that Salma was officially moving in with Tamsir. Although she found the young woman a bit uptight, and subtly criticized her for not being devout, she was happy that her son finally had a serious friend.

The problem is that it rekindles her dreams of having grandchildren even more!

- Dis-moi Salma, serais-tu enceinte ?

“Tell me, Salma, are you pregnant?”

Salma faillit s'étouffer avec sa gorgée d'eau !

- Absolument pas ! 

Salma nearly choked on her sip of water!

“Absolutely not!”

- Parce que tu as pris de l'eau au lieu d'une bière, alors j'espérais que c'était pour ça.

“Because you had water instead of a beer, so I was hoping that was why.”

- C'est juste que je préfère l'eau, c'est plus désaltérant par cette chaleur.

- Maman, tu es pénible avec ça, autant pour moi que pour Khady, ajoute Tamsir.

“It’s just that I prefer water; it’s more refreshing in this heat.”

“Mom, you’re being a pain about this, for me as much as for Khady,” Tamsir added.

- Mais quoi ? C'est un désir tout à fait légitime d'avoir des petits-enfants. Et comme Khady et son petit ami sont encore trop jeunes, c'est logique que je me tourne vers vous deux : vous en avez l'âge !

“But what? It’s a perfectly legitimate desire of mine to have grandchildren. And since Khady and her boyfriend are still too young, it’s only logical that I turn to you two; you’re old enough!”

- Maman, d'abord, Zach est un copain, pas mon petit ami, et ça commence à être agaçant, tu sais, à toujours revenir sur le sujet.

“Mom, first, Zach is a friend, not my boyfriend, and it’s getting tiresome, you know, you keep bringing this up.”

- C'est vrai, Maman, ça devient pénible.

“It’s true, Mom, it’s getting tiresome.”

Anne-Marie allait répondre lorsque Michel Fontaine l'interpella, utilisant le seul argument susceptible de faire fléchir la pieuse femme.

- Allons, mon amie, laissons les choses ainsi. Si Dieu veut que vous ayez des petits-enfants, il vous en donnera. Mais n'en parlez pas sans cesse à vos enfants ; cela ne fera que semer la discorde entre vous.

Anne-Marie was about to reply when Michel Fontaine called out to her, using the only argument that could sway the pious woman.

"Come now, my friend, let it be. If God wants you to have grandchildren, He will. But don't bother your children with this; it will only create bitterness between you."

Les quatre jeunes gens échangèrent un regard soulagé. Peut-être Anne-Marie les laisserait-elle enfin tranquilles !

The four young people looked at each other, relieved. Perhaps Anne-Marie would finally leave them alone about it!
