Malgré le temps menaçant, Oona et Nabil sont allés s'installer en affut pour tenter de photographier l'ourse et ses petits, qui avaient dû bien grandir.

Mais contrairement à son habitude, Nabil était distrait et n'arrêtait pas de sortir son téléphone de sa poche pour le consulter.

Despite the threatening weather, Oona and Nabil went to hide to try and photograph the mother bear and her cubs, who must have grown quite a bit.

But unlike usual, Nabil was distracted and kept taking his phone out of his pocket to check it.

Oona l'observait, intriguée. 

Oona watched him, intrigued.

Au bout d'un moment, elle n'y tint plus.

"Tu n'es pas attentif et tu n'arrêtes pas de tripoter ton téléphone. Qu'est-ce qui se passe ?" 

After a while, she couldn't take it anymore.
"You're not paying attention and you keep fiddling with your phone. What's going on?"

"Je ne suis disputé avec Jasmine et elle ne répond plus à mes messages".

"I had a fight with Jasmine and she's not answering my messages anymore."

"C'est au sujet de la semaine qu'elle voulait passer à la mer avec toi en Gaspésie ?"

"Is it about the week she wanted to spend with you at the beach in the Gaspé Peninsula?"

"Oui. Comment l'as-tu deviné ?" 

"Yes. How did you know?"

"Simple : j'ai été tellement choquée de ta réponse de gros macho obtus quand tu lui as dit "c'est hors de question, point final" (revoir ICI) que j'ai eu moi-même envie de te gifler en t'entendant. Je comprends donc parfaitement la réaction de Jasmine. Surtout que tu sais très bien que tu peux prendre une semaine de congé sans problème pour partir avec elle".

Nabil reste sans voix.

"Simply put: I was so shocked by your obtuse, macho response when you told her 'it's out of the question, period' (see HERE) that I wanted to slap you myself when I heard it, so I can easily put myself in Jasmine's shoes. Especially since you know perfectly well that you can take a week off work without any problem to go away with her."

Nabil is speechless.

Oona en profite pour enfoncer le clou.

"Je peux te dire que si Franck m'avait parlé comme ça, j'aurais dormi dans le lit cette nuit-là, et lui sur le plancher !" 

Oona takes the opportunity to rub salt in the wound.
"I can tell you that if Franck had spoken to me like that, I would have slept in the bed that night and he would have slept on the floor!"

"Tu crois que je devrais lui dire que je suis d'accord pour partir avec elle à la mer ?"

"Do you think I should tell her that I'm okay with going to the beach with her?"

"Mais je n'en sais rien, moi ! C'est votre relation de couple, vous faites ce que vous voulez. Parce que pour moi, vous êtes bel et bien un couple ; à moins que je me trompe et que tu ne la considères que comme une aventure, ce qui ne semble pas être son cas à elle, en tout cas. Mais je te conseille quand même d'arrêter de jouer les durs quand tu as l'impression de ne pas avoir ton mot à dire. Mets ton orgueil de côté : elle a aussi le droit de décider. Si vous êtes en couple, ça doit être réciproque, mon grand ! On ne vit plus dans des cavernes, à moins que tu veuilles jouer les mâles dominants comme un gorille, mais je ne pense pas que tu aies le dos gris !".

"But I don't know anything about it! It's your relationship as a couple, you do what you feel is right. Because it certainly seems to me that you two are a couple; unless I'm mistaken and you only see her as a fling, which doesn't seem to be the case for her anyway. But I still advise you to stop playing the tough guy when you feel like you're not the one who decided something. Swallow your male pride: she has the right to decide too. If you're a couple, it should be a two-way street, my friend! We're not living in caves anymore, unless you want to play the dominant male like a gorilla, but I don't think you're gray-backed!"

Nabil détourne la tête et se perd dans ses pensées.  

Nabil turns his head away and is lost in thought.

Pendant ce temps, Oona boit tranquillement une gorgée d'eau et s'exclame.

"Oh la la ! Les hommes....!"

Meanwhile, Oona calmly takes a sip of water and exclaims:
"Oh dear! Men...!"

 Puis recevant une goutte, elle ajoute :

"Voilà la pluie, rentrons. Tu pourras réfléchir au sec, ça te permettra peut-être d'y voir plus clair !".

Then, getting a drop on her, she adds:
"Here comes the rain. Let's go inside. That way, you can think in the dry. Maybe it'll clear your head!"
