Après avoir terminé son stage au MIT à Boston, la sœur de Nabil est de retour. Elle s'est d'abord rendue à Montréal pour faire le point sur l'offre d'emploi qu'elle a reçue le jour de son départ (revoir ICI), et dès la fin de son entretien avec les responsables de l'Université McGill, elle est partie pour le chalet, arrivant cet après-midi. Elle compte y passer quelques jours en attendant la réponse à sa candidature.

Installée confortablement sur le canapé, avec des allures de reine, elle parle sans cesse de ses cours, de ses notes, de son potentiel futur emploi à McGill, et ainsi de suite.

Élevée dans le respect des bonnes manières par son père japonais, Yumi l'écoute religieusement, sans dire un mot.

Mais Shannen et Kyle se sont trouvé une tâche "très urgente" : visionner les dernières vidéos du jeune homme pour pouvoir échapper à Salma !

Franck, lui, s'est rappelé des légumes frais qu'il fallait absolument éplucher immédiatement pour les congeler !

Oona reste là par pure politesse envers la sœur de son co-équipier, mais elle sent qu'elle est en train de s'endormir doucement et elle se dit qu'elle devrait faire fi de la politesse pour aller rejoindre Franck à la cuisine... 

Tina et Aslan ont avertis depuis peu qu'ils étaient désolés, mais qu'ils devaient partir dans quelques minutes car ils avaient "oublié" leur rendez-vous de longue date avec une amie naturaliste de passage.

Le tout était ponctué d'appels téléphoniques que Salma annonçait immanquablement comme importants en décrochant… ce qui finit par arracher un sourire discret à Yumi, qui se détourna pour ne pas offenser sa voisine.

À peine Tina et Aslan étaient-ils partis que Jasmine arriva.

Nabil se leva aussitôt pour l'accueillir et lui donner un tendre et amoureux baiser, sous le regard surpris de Salma.

Jasmine salua ensuite tout le monde…

…puis elle tendit à Nabil le pull qu'elle tenait.

"Tiens mon loulou, voilà, j'ai fini de le tricoter, avec l'aide de Mamie Suzanne à l'association. J'espère qu'il t'ira bien, comme ça tu pourras enfin porter autre chose que ce vieux pull vert informe"

"Mais je l'aime bien mon pull vert tout avachi, c'est un vieux copain, lui et moi, on s'entend bien et depuis longtemps !" plaisanta Nabil.

"Oh, oui ! Depuis longtemps, ça, ça se voit ! Mais moi, je ne l'aime pas ce pull. Garde le pour aller faire des photos dans les bois, mais quand on est ensemble, fais moi plaisir et mets celui-là. Allez, mon loulou, va vite l'essayer".

"Pas maintenant, voyons ! Je l'essaierai ce soir, c'est promis".

"Non, essaies le maintenant ! Allez mon loulou, s'il te plait, fais moi plaisir", insista Jasmine avec une petit moue boudeuse à laquelle Nabil est incapable de résister, tout en lui caressant la joue.

"Qu'est ce que je ne ferais pas pour te faire plaisir à mon bébé. Allez, donne le moi !"

Salma a suivi le dialogue avec étonnement au début, puis avec agacement.

Et elle intervient.

"Mais enfin, s'il dit qu'il ne veut pas le porter maintenant, arrête d'insister et fiche-lui la paix".

Yumi la regarde avec stupéfaction parce que, de son côté, elle trouvait l'insistance de Jasmine et la capitulation de Nabil plutôt amusantes. 

Mais Salma avait visiblement oublié le caractère bien trempé dont Jasmine avait fait preuve lors de leur première rencontre (revoir ICI).

"Merci une fois encore pour ta précieuse intervention Salma, mais mêle toi de tes affaires. C'est peut-être ton frère, mais c'est aussi mon petit ami, et ce qui se passe entre nous ne te regarde pas. Essaie de t'en souvenir pour l'avenir. Merci d'avance !".

Salma est restée pantoise et sans voix pendant quelques instants. Puis elle a regardé Nabil qui a détourné le regard vers Jasmine et lui a souri, pour ensuite se diriger vers la salle de bain pour changer de pull.

La cohabitation risque d'être délicate !!! À suivre...

After finishing her internship at MIT in Boston, Nabil's sister is back. She first went to Montreal to follow up on the job offer she received the day she left (see HERE), and as soon as her interview with McGill University officials was over, she left for the cottage, arriving this afternoon. She plans to spend a few days there while waiting for a response to her application.

Settled comfortably on the sofa, acting like a queen, she talks incessantly about her classes, her grades, her potential future job at McGill, and so on.

Raised with impeccable manners by her Japanese father, Yumi listens to her intently, without saying a word.

But Shannen and Kyle have found themselves a "very urgent" task: watching the young man's latest videos so they can escape Salma!

Franck, meanwhile, remembered the fresh vegetables that absolutely had to be peeled immediately to freeze!

Oona stayed there out of pure politeness to her teammate's sister, but she felt herself drifting off to sleep and decided she should forget about politeness and go join Franck in the kitchen...

Tina and Aslan had just announced that they were sorry, but that they had to leave in a few minutes because they had "forgotten" their long-awaited appointment with a visiting naturalist friend.

All this was punctuated by phone calls that Salma invariably announced as important as she answered them… which finally brought a discreet smile to Yumi's face, who turned away so as not to offend her neighbor.

No sooner had Tina and Aslan left than Jasmine arrived.
Nabil immediately stood up to greet her and gave her a tender, loving kiss, under Salma's surprised gaze.

Jasmine then greeted everyone… then she handed Nabil the sweater she was holding.
"Here, sweetie, here it is, I've finished knitting it, with the help of Grandma Suzanne at the charity shop. I hope it fits you well, so you can finally wear something other than that old, shapeless green sweater."
"But I like my saggy green sweater, it's an old friend, it and I, we get along well and have for a long time!" joked Nabil.
"Oh, yes! For a long time, that's obvious! But I don't like this sweater. Keep it for taking pictures in the woods, but when we're together, do me a favor and wear this one. Come on, sweetie, go try it on quickly."
"Not now, come on! I'll try it on tonight, I promise."
"No, try it on now! Come on, darling, please, make me happy," Jasmine insisted, pouting slightly—a pout Nabil couldn't resist—while stroking her cheek.
"What wouldn't I do to please you, my baby? Come on, give it to me!"

Salma followed the conversation with astonishment at first, then with annoyance.
And she intervened.
"But come on, if he says he doesn't want to wear it now, stop insisting and leave him alone."
Yumi stared at her in astonishment because she, for her part, found Jasmine's insistence and Nabil's capitulation rather amusing.

But Salma had clearly forgotten the strong character Jasmine had displayed during their first meeting (see HERE).
"Thanks again for your invaluable input, Salma, but mind your own business. He may be your brother, but he's also my boyfriend, and what happens between us is none of your concern. Try to remember that for the future. Thanks in advance!"

Salma was speechless and dumbfounded for a few moments. Then she looked at Nabil, who glanced at Jasmine and smiled at her, before heading to the bathroom to change his sweater.

Living together is going to be tricky!!! To be continued...
