Malgré les prévisions de neige, Yumi se rendit à la station de ski pour photographier des snowboardeurs. Elle remarqua une jeune fille aux longs cheveux blonds qui semblait très talentueuse et passionnée, car elle n'arrêtait pas de monter et redescendre.

Elle commença par la photographier de loin, puis se rapprocha de sa trajectoire et attendit le moment opportun pour un gros plan lors de sa prochaine descente.

Mais la snowboardeuse ne s'attendait pas à trouver quelqu'un posté presque en plein sur sa piste et…

... c'est la chute.

"Mais qu'est-ce qui te prend ? Que fais-tu là, au milieu de la piste ? Vous autres, photographes, vous seriez tous prêts à provoquer un accident pour avoir une belle photo et vous faire remarquer !".

Yumi est stupéfaite, car la voix qui l'interpelle est indéniablement masculine, et qu'elle appartient à un beau garçon pas du tout amical !

"Je... Je suis vraiment désolée... Je ne pensais pas te déranger en me mettant là" balbutie-t-elle.

Ayant aperçu la scène de loin, Tamsir arrive. Aujourd'hui, il a contacté ses élèves et annulé leurs cours de ski à cause de la neige annoncée, et il est de service sur les pistes.

"Eh bien, c'est mon amie Yumi qui embête mon copain Ethan ! Rien de grave, ça va aller. Mais tu sais que tu as fait une bêtise, hein ? Même comme photographe officielle du parc national, tu étais beaucoup trop près de la piste. Utilise ton téléobjectif, ce sera mieux".

Yumi explique qu'elle n'a pas emporté d'objectif de rechange aujourd'hui, en raison de la neige, pour éviter d'avoir à les interchanger et prendre le risque qu'un flocon pénètre dans le boîtier pendant l'opération, et que, vraiment impressionnée par les prouesses d'Ethan, elle avait voulu s'approcher pour un meilleur cliché.

Tamsir l'écoute, mais il doit tenir correctement son rôle de surveillant et la réprimande.

'Mouai.... l'explication se tient, mais ça ne la rend pas plus raisonnable pour autant".

"Je sais, je suis vraiment désolée. Je ferai très attention à l'avenir, promis. Encore désolée, Ethan" ajoute-t-elle à l'attention du snowboardeur, toujours étalé par terre, qui les écoute avec attention.

"Bon, tu te souviens de la sanction que doit payer ma copine Yumi pour ses mauvaises attitudes sur les pistes, hein ?!" taquine Tamsir.

"Oui, un chocolat chaud à l'accueil avant que ça ferme !" répond Yumi en riant (revoir ICI).

"Tu vois, Ethan, elle est prête à se faire pardonner en échange d'un chocolat chaud ! Ça te dirait de venir avec nous ?" demande Tamsir à son copain.

"OK ! De toutes manières, il commence à neiger trop fort pour continuer" répond le snowboardeur.

"Cool, comme ça, Yumi sera contente, elle va pouvoir te photographier pendant que tu lui raconteras toutes les médailles que tu as gagnées quand tu vivais là-bas !".

Et c'est ainsi que Yumi fit la connaissance d'Ethan, un champion de glisse américain qui a décidé de venir offrir ses talents au Canada parce qu'il n'aime pas ce que son pays devient.

Despite the snow forecast, Yumi went to the ski resort to photograph snowboarders. She noticed a young girl with long blonde hair who seemed very talented and passionate, constantly going up and down the slopes.

She started by photographing her from a distance, then moved closer to her line of sight and waited for the right moment for a close-up during her next run.

But the snowboarder didn't expect to find someone standing almost right in the middle of her run and…

…she fell.

"What's wrong with you? What are you doing here, in the middle of the slope? You photographers would all be ready to cause an accident just to get a good photo and get noticed!"

Yumi was stunned, because the voice calling out to her was undeniably male, and it belonged to a handsome but not at all friendly guy!

"I... I'm so sorry... I didn't mean to bother you by standing here," she stammered.

Having spotted the scene from afar, Tamsir arrived. Today, he had contacted his students and canceled their ski lessons because of the predicted snow, and he was on duty on the slopes.

"Well, it's my friend Yumi bothering my boyfriend Ethan! Nothing serious, it'll be fine. But you know you did something wrong, right? Even as the official photographer for the national park, you were way too close to the slope. Use your telephoto lens, it'll be better."

Yumi explained that she hadn't brought a spare lens today because of the snow, to avoid having to swap them and risking a snowflake getting into the camera body during the process, and that, truly impressed by Ethan's skill, she had wanted to get closer for a better shot.

Tamsir listens, but he has to properly fulfill his role as supervisor and reprimands her.

"Yeah... the explanation makes sense, but it doesn't make her any more reasonable."

"I know, I'm really sorry. I'll be very careful in the future, I promise. Sorry again, Ethan," she adds to the snowboarder, still sprawled on the ground, who is listening attentively.

"Well, you remember the penalty my girlfriend Yumi has to pay for her bad behavior on the slopes, right?!" Tamsir teases.

"Yes, a hot chocolate at reception before it closes!" Yumi replies, laughing (see HERE).

"You see, Ethan, she's ready to make amends in exchange for a hot chocolate! Would you like to come with us?" Tamsir asks her friend.

"OK!" "Anyway, it's starting to snow too hard to continue," the snowboarder replied.

"Cool, that way Yumi will be happy; she can take your picture while you tell her about all the medals you won when you lived there!"

And that's how Yumi met Ethan, an American skiing champion who decided to come and offer his talents to Canada because he doesn't like what his country is becoming.
