Hier, Wash crut entendre un engoulevent. Guylaine et lui partirent tenter de le photographier en fin d'après-midi, lorsque le soleil disparaît à l'horizon et que ces oiseaux crépusculaires commencent à s'éveiller. Ils prirent le vieux Jeep Grand Cherokee que le groupe partage pour transporter tout leur matériel.

Yesterday, Wash thought he heard a nightjar. He and Guylaine gone to tried to photograph it in the late afternoon, when the sun dips below the horizon and these crepuscular birds begin to stir. They took the old Jeep Grand Cherokee that the group share to transport all their equipment.

Quelques manœuvres...

A few maneuvers...

et ils se garèrent. 

and they parked.

 Puis ils attendirent.

Then they waited.

Le nez en l'air, comme tous les ornithologues. 

With their noses in the air, like all birdwatchers.

Leur patience n'a pas payé, et ils reprirent le chemin du chalet, me saluant d'un signe de la main au passage !

Their patience didn't pay off this evening, so they headed back to the cabin, waving goodbye to me as they passed!

Cette petite histoire avait pour but de vous montrer la restauration que j'ai effectuée sur une vieille Jeep Grand Cherokee Barbie de 1994, que j'ai ensuite repeinte.

J'ai recréé les autocollants de la calandre, le logo du modèle et les feux arrière grâce à mon logiciel de graphisme. J'ai ensuite ajouté les plaques d'immatriculation et le logo « Jeep » à l'arrière, ainsi que le moteur « V8 », en m'inspirant de photos du véritable Grand Cherokee de l'époque.

This little story was meant to show you the restoration I did on an old Barbie Jeep Grand Cherokee, dating from 1994, which I then repainted.

I recreated the grille decals, the name model design, and the taillights using my graphics software. Then I also added license plates and the "Jeep" badge on the back, plus the "V8" engine, inspired by photos of the real Grand Cherokee from that era.

You'll notice the dimensions of the vehicle back then, in which Wash, even though she's taller than the Barbie girls, has her head below the roofline:

Trente-deux ans plus tard, les voitures Barbie ont rétréci d'année en année, devenant de ridicules petites choses où seules deux poupées peuvent tenir, entassées comme des sardines dans leur boîte, la tête au-dessus du pare-brise !

Thirty-two years later, Barbie cars have shrunk year after year, becoming ridiculous little things in which only two dolls fit, crammed like sardines in their box, with their heads above the windshield!

Au moins, avec celle-ci, les baroudeurs seront à l'aise puisque quatre "personnes" peuvent s'asseoir à l'intérieur, et le grand coffre peut servir à transporter beaucoup de choses.

At least with this one, adventurers can get comfortable since four "people" can sit inside, and the large trunk can be used to carry a lot of things.
