Je vous laisse lire cette page rédigée ce soir par Shannen (toujours aussi taquine dans ses écrits !), qui va vous annoncer une bonne nouvelle, et vous faire connaitre un nouveau personnage.

Et voici les photos des camarades ensemble cet après-midi, avec la nouvelle venue, une des deux filles d'Ariane :

Quel drôle de pays. Il commence à faire frais le soir, mais la météo nous a exceptionnellement offert en ce samedi une journée douce et "presque" chaude, bien que moche et grise.. 
Les touristes en ont profité et ont afflué en masse au camping du parc national car selon les prévisions, tout se dégrade dimanche et une brutale chute de température nous attend à partir de lundi.
On a décidé d'un commun accord de tous s'installer dehors après le repas et de passer notre après-midi à faire le point de ces premiers mois au Canada.
Nous étions en train de discuter et plaisanter lorsque nous avons vu arriver Ariane en compagnie de sa fille cadette.
Elle venait informer officiellement mes camarades photographes qu'ils étaient engagés pour 3 ans comme 
photographes officiels du parc national. Elle a ajouté que Éric a présigné leurs contrats et qu'ils doivent aller le voir pour les parapher.
En conséquence, elle m'a confirmé que de mon côté, j'étais bien sous contrat pour 3 ans également avec le magazine Naturelimages pour la suite du Carnet de voyage qui continuera à être publié mensuellement.
Cette nouvelle nous a tous réjouit, et rassurés, parce que jusqu'ici, rien n'avait encore été officialisé.
Ensuite, elle nous a dit que le tournage des interviews individuels pour le documentaire commencerait début septembre, et que Duncan souhait nous voir ensemble la semaine prochaine pour nous parler. 
De quoi ? On verra bien...... !!

Après cette annonce, Ariane et Guylaine se sont assises avec nous, et les discussions ont repris.

La première fois que j'avais vue Guylaine, j'avais trouvé qu'elle avait l'air d'une cocotte avec ses fringues et son maquillage, et je n'ai pas eu un bon contact. C'est vrai que moi, les nanas maquillées, ce n'est pas mon truc.
( les nanas ne sont pas mon truc du tout d'ailleurs : aucun doute là-dessus, je préfère les gars !! MDR ! ) 
Par la suite, j'ai appris à la connaitre, et j'ai fini par apprécier cette belle fille qui n'a pas du tout l'air de se rendre compte à quel point elle est jolie.
Elle étudie pour être ingénieur écologue à l'Université de Sherbrooke, après avoir eu son bac en écologie environnementale. J'admire sa passion.

Cet après-midi, elle s'est mise à nous raconter des anecdotes lorsqu'elle faisait des relevés sur les ratons laveurs et les bernaches, leur mettant des colliers et des bagues émettrices au printemps pour les suivre et
collecter des données sur leur comportement afin de connaitre l'impact des changements climatiques sur leurs habitudes de vie. Nous étions morts de rire quand elle nous a expliqué qu'un raton s'était réveillé plus tôt que prévu de l'anesthésie temporaire pour la pose du collier et qu'il en avait profité pour piquer le repas qu'elle et sa collègue avaient emporté, et qu'il était parti en courant avec, les obligeant à finir leur journée de travail avec l'estomac vide ! 

Toutefois, j'ai note que Wash était suspendu à ses lèvres et paraissait l'écouter avec une attention très très très intense..... Je me demande si c'est le récit ou la fille qui parlait qui l'intéressait autant. C'était trop mignon de voir ce grand taciturne sembler tout à coup se dégeler !!!

And here are the photos of the friends together this afternoon, with the newcomer, one of Ariane's two daughters:
"What a strange country. It's starting to get chilly in the evening, but the weather exceptionally gave us a mild and "almost" warm day this Saturday, although ugly and gray.
The tourists took advantage of it and flocked en masse to the national park campsite because according to the forecast, everything will deteriorate on Sunday and a sudden drop in temperature awaits us starting Monday.
We mutually decided to all sit outside after lunch and spend our afternoon taking stock of these first months in Canada. We were chatting and joking when we saw Ariane arrive with her youngest daughter.
She came to officially inform my fellow photographers that they had been hired for three years as official photographers for the national park. She added that Éric had pre-signed their contracts and that they should go see him to sign them.
She then confirmed that I, for my part, was also under contract for three years with Naturelimages magazine for the continuation of the Travel Journal, which will continue to be published monthly.
This news delighted and reassured us all, because until then, nothing had been formalized.
Then, she told us that the filming of individual interviews for the documentary would begin in early September, and that Duncan wanted to meet us together next week to talk.
What about? We'll see...!
After this announcement, Ariane and Guylaine sat down with us, and the discussions resumed. The first time I saw Guylaine, I thought she looked like a bitch with her clothes and makeup, and I didn't connect well with her. It's true that girls with makeup aren't my thing.
(Girls aren't my thing at all, by the way: no doubt about it, I prefer guys!! LOL!)
Afterwards, I got to know her better, and I ended up appreciating this beautiful girl who doesn't seem to realize how pretty she is at all.
She's studying to be an ecological engineer at the University of Sherbrooke, after graduating with a bachelor's degree in environmental ecology. I admire her passion.
This afternoon, she started telling us stories about her time surveying raccoons and geese, putting collars and radio bands on them in the spring to track them and collect data on their behavior to understand the impact of climate change on their lifestyles. We were dying of laughter when she explained that a raccoon had woken up earlier than expected from the temporary anesthesia used for the collaring and had taken the opportunity to steal the lunch she and her colleague had brought along, then ran off with it, forcing them to finish their workday with empty stomachs!

However, I noticed that Wash was hanging on her every word and seemed to be listening with very, very, very intense attention... I wonder if it was the story or the girl who was talking that interested him so much. It was so cute to see this big, taciturn guy suddenly seem to thaw out!!!"
