L'automne s'installe déjà, étonnant les baroudeurs, et attristant Aslan, comme l'explique Shannen dans cette nouvelle page du carnet de voyage (cliquez sur l'image pour lire plus facilement le texte). 

En effet, Aslan et ses camarades voient les changements de couleurs des arbres qui ont quitté le vert vif estival pour un vert plus sombre et plus terne, ainsi que le soleil plus bas sur l'horizon, la fraicheur qui s'installe tôt l'après-midi et dure tard dans la matinée, la majorité des oiseaux migrateurs déjà repartis en direction du sud. Et quelques autres signes encore, qui ne trompent pas et qu'ils remarquent chaque jour, leur précocité les surprenant par rapport à leur pays d'origine. 

Toutefois, l'idée que les premiers gels nocturnes vont bientôt arriver les étonne beaucoup plus, novices qu'ils sont encore au niveau du climat canadien.

Par contre, la descente de la bulle d'air polaire qui amène la fraicheur a repoussé la fumée des feux de forêt canadiens qui brulent toujours et a enfin clarifié le ciel ; ça, tout le petit groupe l'apprécie beaucoup.

Les pages suivantes du carnet contiennent ces photos, qu'Aslan a prises en revenant au chalet ce jour-là.

À noter qu'en entrant dans le chalet, il a dit à Shannen qu'il s'était gelé les jambes et que c'était sans doute la dernière fois qu'il portait un short cette année !

Autumn is already upon us, surprising the group and saddening Aslan, as Shannen explains in this new page of the travel journal (click on the image to read the text more easily).

Indeed, Aslan and his friends notice the changing colors of the trees, which have left the bright summer green for a darker, duller green, as well as the sun lower on the horizon, the coolness that sets in the afternoon and lasts late into the morning, and the majority of migratory birds already heading south. And a few other unmistakable signs that they notice every day, their early arrival surprising them compared to their home country.

However, the idea that the first night frosts will soon arrive surprises them even more, as they are still novices in the Canadian climate.

On the other hand, the descent of the polar air bubble, bringing freshness, has pushed back the smoke and finally cleared the sky, and the whole group appreciates that very much.

The following pages of the notebook contain these photos, which Aslan took on his way back to the cabin that day.

Note that upon entering the cabin, he told Shannen that his legs were frozen and that it was probably the last time he wore shorts this year!
