Ce soir, Yumi est seule au chalet. Il lui paraît immense et froid, alors qu'en présence des autres baroudeurs, l'espace lui semble exigu et étrangement "chaud".

Tous les autres sont sortis fêter la Saint-Valentin, chacun en couple : Shannen et Kyle au restaurant à Sherbrooke, Oona avec Franck au restaurant de son père, Wash avec Guylaine (qui n'a pas précisé où ils allaient), et même Nabil, qui avait rendez-vous avec Jasmine, tout en proclamant haut et fort qu'il s'agissait simplement d'une réunion entre amis, ce qui a fait sourire tous ceux qui l'ont entendu !

Mais elle, elle a refusé l'invitation au restaurant d'Ethan. L'ombre de David plane toujours au dessus d'elle, et elle se demande si elle arrivera à nouveau un jour à faire confiance à un garçon.

Se sentant seule, Yumi se parle à voix haute. Cela l'aide à mettre de l'ordre dans ses pensées.

"Pourtant, Ethan semble sincère. Et patient. Même si j'ai du mal à le croire, vu la rapidité avec laquelle il s'est déclaré, il semble vraiment s'être attaché à moi et être prêt à attendre que je lui fasse confiance. Il ne demande rien, il attend, il espère. C'est presque touchant. Je l'aime bien, mais que cache tout ça ? Encore une déception ? Ou est-ce que je passe à côté de quelque chose ?"

Puis elle pense à Tina et Aslan. Ils doivent être arrivé au restaurant maintenant eux aussi.

"J'espère que Tina ne décevra pas Aslan. Il a dû traverser une période difficile pour être un peu bourru comme ça, mais on voit bien qu'il est incroyablement sensible sous ses airs sérieux. Enfin, pas de souci, parce que ces deux-là sont inséparables, comme les deux moitiés d'un tout qui s'est enfin trouvé".

 Elle essaie de se concentrer sur sa tablette, mais ses pensées s'emballent.

"Et si Ethan était une moitié de mon tout, lui aussi ? Et si j'avais raté l'occasion de le découvrir en refusant son invitation ce soir ? Non, c'est plus prudent. Si vraiment il tient à moi, il attendra que je sois prête. Si j'arrive à l'être à nouveau....".

Tonight, Yumi is alone at the cabin. It feels vast and cold, whereas with the other adventurers, the space feels cramped and strangely "warm."
Everyone else has gone out to celebrate Valentine's Day, each in a couple: Shannen and Kyle at a restaurant in Sherbrooke, Oona with Franck at her father's restaurant, Wash with Guylaine (who didn't specify where they were going), and even Nabil, who had a date with Jasmine, while loudly proclaiming that it was simply a get-together with friends, which made everyone who heard him smile!

But she, she declined the invitation to Ethan's restaurant. David's shadow still hangs over her, and she wonders if she'll ever be able to trust a boy again.

Feeling lonely, Yumi talks to herself out loud. It helps her sort out her thoughts.
"Yet, Ethan seems sincere. And patient. Even though I find it hard to believe, given how quickly he confessed his feelings, he really seems to have grown attached to me and is ready to wait for me to trust him. He's not asking for anything, he's waiting, he's hoping. It's almost touching. I like him, but what's behind all this? Another disappointment? Or am I missing something?"

Then she thinks of Tina and Aslan. They must have arrived at the restaurant by now, too.
"I hope Tina doesn't disappoint Aslan. He must have been going through a rough patch to be a bit gruff like this, but you can see he's incredibly sensitive beneath his serious exterior. Anyway, no worries, because those two are inseparable, like two halves of a whole that have finally found each other."

She tries to focus on her tablet, but her thoughts are racing.
"What if Ethan is also half of me? What if I missed the chance to find out by turning down his invitation tonight? No, it's safer this way. If he really cares about me, he'll wait until I'm ready. If I ever am again..."
