Aslan aperçut la lumière du soleil filtrant à travers les stores de la chambre. Laissant Tina dormir profondément après leur sortie au restaurant avec Yumi, Jasmine, Nabil, Shannen et Kyle, et une soirée qui s'était prolongée tard dans la nuit autour de cafés et de discussions au chalet, il griffonna rapidement un petit mot pour elle avant d'enfourcher sa Harley, impatient de prendre la route avant que Christophe ne puisse venir la lui emprunter ! !

Les prévisions météo avaient vu juste : il faisait 15 degrés de moins que la veille ; il ressortit donc un pull qu'il n'avait pas porté depuis le mois de mai.

Un rapide coup d'œil à Météo Média lui apprit que le temps resterait beau jusqu'à 14 heures, après quoi quelques gouttes de pluie étaient annoncées. Le ciel étant dégagé et prévoyant d'être de retour avant midi, il ne s'en inquiéta pas et partit pour sa balade.

Il commença par longer le lac Memphrémagog sur une petite distance (je précise "petite distance" parce que le Memphrémagog fait 43 Km de long. En revanche, il ne fait que 1,5 Km de large).

Aslan noticed the sunlight filtering through the bedroom blinds. Leaving Tina sleeping soundly after their restaurant outing with Yumi, Jasmine, Nabil, Shannen, and Kyle, and an evening that had stretched late into the night with coffee and conversations at the cabin, he quickly scribbled a little note for her before hopping on his Harley, eager to hit the road before Christophe could come borrow it again!
The weather forecast had been spot on: it was 15 degrees colder than the day before, so he dug out a sweater he hadn't worn since May.
A quick glance at MétéoMédia informed him that the weather would stay clear until 2:00 p.m., after which a few raindrops were expected. Since the sky was clear and he planned to be back before noon, he didn't worry about it and set off for his ride.
He started by riding along Lake Memphremagog for a short distance (I specify "short distance" because Memphremagog is 43 km long, but on the flip side, it’s only 1.5 km wide).

puis cette jolie vieille grange.

Il remarqua que des nuages commençaient à s'amonceler, mais rien n'étant encore bien menaçant, il descendit vers le lac. 

He noticed that clouds were starting to gather, but nothing looked very threatening yet, so he headed down toward the lake.

Il mit pied à terre, retira son casque et son blouson pour flâner le long du quai de Knowlton Landing, à l'affût de photos. Il était ravi d'avoir mis ce pull ; le vent du nord était mordant, créant un contraste saisissant avec la chaleur de la veille.

He pulled over, took off his helmet and jacket, and strolled along the Knowlton Landing dock, on the lookout for photo opportunities. He was thrilled to have put on that sweater; the north wind was biting, creating a harsh contrast with the warmth of the previous day.

Il reprit la route.

He hit the road again.

Voyant les nuages ​​s'accumuler rapidement, il choisit un itinéraire plus direct pour le retour.

Seeing the clouds accumulate quickly, he chose a more direct route for the way back.

Il s'arrêta le temps d'une photo devant cet arbre solitaire qui lui inspirait une certaine tristesse : il semblait tourner le dos à ses congénères et les fuir, alors que ceux-ci se penchaient pourtant vers lui au-dessus de la route. Il secoua la tête, souriant des pensées farfelues qui lui traversaient parfois l'esprit.

He stopped just long enough to take a photo of this solitary tree, which inspired a certain sadness in him: it seemed to turn its back on its peers and flee from them, even though they leaned toward it over the road. He shook his head, smiling at the whimsical thoughts that sometimes crossed his mind.

Le ciel s'assombrissait rapidement ; il n'y avait pas de temps à perdre.

Arrivé tout près du chalet, il commença à pleuvoir, bien plus tôt que ce qu'avait annoncé la météo. Ce n'étaient que quelques gouttes, très peu en fait, pas même assez pour arroser le sol, qui en avait pourtant grand besoin.

Il coupa le moteur, satisfait de sa balade et heureux que Tina ne l'ait pas accompagné ; elle n'aurait guère apprécié de devoir rentrer aussi vite, elle qui aimait faire des arrêts interminables pour photographier presque toutes les plantes qu'elle apercevait en chemin !

Just as he arrived near the cabin, it started to rain, much earlier than the weather forecast had predicted. It was only a few drops, very few in fact, not even enough to wet the ground, which nonetheless sorely needed it.
He cut the engine, satisfied with his ride and glad that Tina hadn't joined him, because she wouldn't have enjoyed having to head back so quickly, she who loved making endless stops to photograph almost every plant she spotted on the road!

Une pensée lui traversa l'esprit : Sophie avait-elle raison de dire que la voiture était plus confortable pour leurs sorties photo ? Sans doute que oui, en y pensant bien.

A thought crossed his mind: was Sophie right when she said a car was more comfortable for their photography outings? Probably yes, when he really thought about it.

Alors, devait-il vraiment vendre la Harley à Christophe ? Mais après tout, pourquoi pas ? Si Christophe la lui empruntait sans arrêt, il pourrait tout aussi bien la lui emprunter en retour quand l'envie lui en prendrait !

So, should he actually sell the Harley to Christophe? But after all, why not? If Christophe was constantly borrowing it from him, he could just as easily borrow it back whenever the mood struck him!
