Aslan a passé une annonce pour vendre son ancienne moto. Un acheteur potentiel est venu l'examiner devant le chalet cet après-midi.

La température étant encore fraiche (12C venteux), et Yumi était la seule autre membre du groupe à être également dehors.

Elle paraissait plongée dans une profonde réflexion, le téléphone à la main. 

 Les deux hommes discutaient avec animation de leurs expériences à moto.

De son côté, Yumi paraissait hésiter ; sa main tenant le téléphone se levait, puis retombait, et recommençait encore.

Aslan et Matthew, l'acheteur, parlaient, encore et encore, la conversation dérivant sur les endroits à visiter dans la région.

Yumi finit par se décider.

Elle laissa un message vocal.

"Je suis au chalet" ajouta-t-elle avant de couper.

Puis elle se mit à attendre, se demandant si elle avait bien fait.

Et si le message qu'elle avait laissé serait bien interprété, 

Et surtout, quel en serait le résultat...

Pendant ce temps, Matthew racontait l'un de ses voyages à moto pour rendre visite à sa famille en Nouvelle-Écosse (l'une des dix provinces canadiennes) l'été dernier, et la panne mécanique qui l'avait contraint à laisser sa moto sur place et à louer une voiture pour revenir à Sherbrooke, laquelle voiture était tombée en panne à son tour !

Yumi était figée dans l'attente, telle une statue. 

Aslan écoutait avec amusement les mésaventures du retour de Matthew, qu'il narrait avec animation et humour.

Soudain, Yumi se leva d'un bond.

Elle se jeta dans les bras d'Ethan.

"Me pardonneras-tu un jour d'avoir mis autant de temps à comprendre ?" lui demanda-t-elle.

"Te pardonner de m'avoir fait vivre la pire semaine de ma vie ? C'est déjà fait"  

Et pendant tout ce temps, Aslan et Matthew n'avaient rien remarqué, complètement absorbés par une passionnante discussion technique !

Aslan placed an ad to sell his old motorcycle. A potential buyer came to inspect it in front of the cabin this afternoon.

The temperature was still cool (12°C and windy), and Yumi was the only other member of the group outside.
She seemed deep in thought, her phone in her hand.
The two men were animatedly discussing their motorcycle experiences.

Yumi, on the other hand, seemed hesitant; her hand holding the phone rose, then fell, and repeated the same pattern.
Aslan and Matthew, the buyer, talked on and on, the conversation drifting to places to visit in the area.

Yumi finally made up her mind.
She left a voicemail.
"I'm at the cabin," she added before hanging up.
Then she waited, wondering if she had made the right decision. And if the message she had left was correctly interpreted,
And above all, what would the outcome be...?

Meanwhile, Matthew was recounting one of his motorcycle trips to visit his family in Nova Scotia (one of the ten Canadian provinces) last summer, and the mechanical breakdown that had forced him to leave his motorcycle there and rent a car to get back to Sherbrooke, which then broke down itself!

Yumi was frozen in anticipation, like a statue.
Aslan listened with amusement to Matthew's misadventures on the return journey, which he narrated with animation and humor.

Suddenly, Yumi jumped up.
She threw herself into Ethan's arms.
"Will you ever forgive me for taking so long to understand?" she asked him. "Forgive you for making me live through the worst week of my life? I already have."

And all this time, Aslan and Matthew hadn't noticed a thing, completely absorbed in a fascinating technical discussion!
