La discussion s'envenime et le ton monte.

Maman abandonne la lecture sur sa tablette et s'écrie :

- Si continuez à vous disputer comme ça, je crois qu'on va plutôt attendre la rentrée de l'année prochaine pour avoir un animal à la maison.

Piteux, les jumeaux sont immédiatement réconciliés et se sont écriés, avec cette formule que leur mère a déjà entendue au moins cent fois :

- Oh non, Maman, s'il te plait. C'est promis, on ne se disputera plus !
