Maryllis et Bob ont entendu dire qu'un lotissement de maisons familiales va se construire dans un grand champ à la sortie de la ville.

Comme il faisait très beau cet après-midi, ils sont montés sur le scooter de Bob et ils sont allés voir à quoi ressemblait ce coin là.

Ils ont trouvé que c'était un bel endroit, et chacun s'est pris à rêver qu'un jour il y fonderaient leur famille ensemble.

Maryllis and Bob have heard that a subdivision of family houses is going to be built in a large field on the outskirts of town.
As the weather was very nice this afternoon, they got on Bob's scooter and went to see what that place looked like.
They thought it was a beautiful place, and each of them dreamed that one day they would found their family there together.

Au moment de remonter sur le scooter, Bob a dit :

- Tu ne crois pas que c'est un bel endroit pour élever des enfants ? mieux qu'en ville.

Maryllis n'a pas répondu, mais elle a rougi, et son sourire rêveur en disait suffisamment long pour que Bob soit heureux. 

As they got back on the scooter, Bob said :
- Don't you think it's a great place to raise children? better than in town.
Maryllis didn't respond, but she blushed, and her dreamy smile said enough for Bob to be happy.

Bien sur, ils devront attendre encore deux ans, que Maryllis ait fini ses études d'infirmière (1955, heureuse époque où il n'y avait pas de Covid !) et que Bob voit son métier de mécanicien mieux payé qu'actuellement (et qu'il réussisse à amadouer sa future belle-mère, Arlette, qui rêve toujours "un meilleur parti" pour sa fille !) mais ils ont confiance dans le futur : ils le vivront ensemble, ils en sont certains.

Of course, they will have to wait another two years, until Maryllis has finished her nursing studies (1955, happy time when there was no Covid!), and that Bob sees his job as a mechanic better paid than today ((and that he succeeds in making himself better seen by his future mother-in-law, Arlette, who always dreams of "a better husband" for her daughter!) but they are confident in the future : they will live it together, they are sure of it.
